I have made up this hybrid frame using some goodies from OH CHRISTMAS TREE BUNDLE from Stacy's Backdoor Designs (available at Digiridoo Scraps).
And Stacy has been kind enough to offer up the quickpage PNG version of this on her bloggity-blog! This is the hybrid goodie that I have made up from it. You'll notice the colour in my photo isn't as true to life as it should be. The colours in the image above are the real life ones you'll get when you print it out.
I used the frame embellishment that is included in Stacy's kit and added a few embellishments and then my photos to it in Photoshop. I then wanted to add a few real-life embellishments to make it a frame that could be hung on the wall or onto the Christmas tree. To give it some stability, I have mounted the printed quickpage onto thin chipboard. I stuck the chipboard onto the back of my page with a strong gluestick then used my craft knife to trim it to size. I have used Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) to ink the edges of the frame which also conceals the cardboard a little more and gives the frame a lift.
I added some Making Memories mini number stickers to the bottom right of my frame for the date.
Using my Crop A Dile (can't live without this amazing tool that punches through almost anything!), I punched a hole in each side of the frame at the top and set a small eyelet. I threaded some thin gold craft wire through them to create something to hang the frame with.
And lastly, I used another copy of the Christmas stocking button (not included with your download) and mounted it with 3D foam to lift it off the frame a little. I also inked the edges of it and used Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up to give it a clear glaze. In my craft stash, I had some fine tinsel which I hung behind the button.
This is a quick and easy gift to make and I will be giving one to my boys father and both sets of grandparents and I'm sure they'll love it.
So hop on over to Stacy's blog and grab it for yourself!
