It's been a bit since I've posted so let's see what's happened since my last post:
- I'm now on the CT for Simply Sweet Designs! Kim's only been designing for around 6 months and sells at Scrap Matters and her designs are just beautiful so come on over and check them out.
- On the 28th November, I'll be involved in two blog trains. One is to celebrate Black Friday in America and there'll be a blog train with around 30 ladies from Scrap Matters. The gifts you can download will be from a new collab kit which is Chrissy themed and you'll be able to earn for free with their big sale. Then over at Snap & Scrap, it's their monthly Cyber Crop and I'm joining in the blog train to give away some Thanksgiving themed goodies. I've even designed a mini kit and some alphas for it. The alphas will be my prize for the blog train and if you come over to the Forum, I'm hosting a scraplift challenge and my other part of the kit will be giving away with another challenge. So stay tuned for all the news next weekend.
- Make sure you hop on over to the Snap & Scrap forum where our Christmas Countdown is well underway. Challenge # 3 was issued this week by Maz and it's making your own images with photo transfer paper and ironing them onto clothing. I've put up the first two challenges to decorate a paint canvas and make your own DVD cover (a template can be downloaded here). The pics are below:
I haven't posted my Christmas Challenge pics here yet, so here's all the details:
CHALLENGE #1 - Altered paint/artist canvases
So my first project was altering some paint/art canvases which you can pick up from The Reject Shop/Go-Lo/Priceline, etc. They come in many sizes and thicknesses but I've used two 6x6 inch ones for this project.
I have painted them with silver acrylic paint and the papers and most of the elements are from a digital kit called MISTLETOE MAGIC in the Snap & Scrap shop.
I've then added my own bits and pieces such as Opal Dust, inked edges, ribbon, stickers, diecut shapes and shaped buttons to finish it off.
Was thinking about hanging them on a strip of ribbon to make a wall hanging but will most likely just stand them on my shelf or dresser.
CHALLENGE #2 - DVD cover
I haven't been able to print this off and pop into a disc cover yet as my printer is playing up so you're just seeing the Photoshop version obviously with the cover on the right and the back on the left side of the screen. A quick and easy way to personalise a CD or DVD for Christmas. I always give my parents a disc at Christmas time with highlights of our year in pictures and video.
Oh and nearly forgot, here's a layout using Rosemade Designs by Marcee Fairchild's LEAF PILE kit available at Snap & Scrap. I just love the colours and they were perfect for some zoo photos. I have used a template by Mitzie that is available on the Snap & Scrap blog.
Another fab reason to drop over to Snap & Scrap is the addition of two fantastic new designers - WIMPY CHOMPERS CREATIONS and FLUTTER EXPRESSIONS. Christina's stuff is just amazing with loads of hand drawn pics.
And one more thing to show you, a hybrid card I made using Sugarplum Paperie's kit A GOLDEN AFTERNOON. I love how the leaves turned out after I cut them out and inked the edges. To thread the twill through the card, I cut a small slit into each side of the transparent flower and threaded it through and stuck it to the back of the cardfront. The backing cardstock isn't this pink in real life but I oversaturated the photo as it was a little dark but the colours all work in so well together.
Physical supplies:
Textured cardstock from Stampin' Up
Twill
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - walnut stain
sponge
awl
Stampin' Up mat pack
3D foam tape

I had to give you a special shout out for those canvases!
You can see the original post here: http://www.cardoftheweek.com/2008/11/scrapbook-sat-3.html.
I did use a picture from your post, with links back to the site and the original post. I hope that is OK. Please feel free to email me if you need me to change anything.
I also have an “I was featured” on badge for you if you want it :D

I wondered what you used to stick the papers onto the canvas? They are lovely by the way.
