Love Notes box & cards

Here's a peek at what I taught at my Stamp Club workshop today for Lisa.  It's from a tutorial off Splitcoast Stampers (for the box design).  The cards are the little 3x3 inch Love Notes that you can purchase with matching envelopes.  There's so much you can do with these cute little cards and they're nicely packed in a gift box tied up with ribbon.

I have used Season of Joy  and Crazy About Christmas stamp sets and the All About Christmas Jumbo Wheel.

I used Purely Pomegranate ink, Always Artichoke ink and marker, Bravo Burgundy marker, Versamark and silver ink (non-SU).

Card is Whisper White and Purely Pomegranate.  Patterned paper is from Holiday Harmony in the Spring Mini.

Additional supplies used:  Purely Pomegranate ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Crystal Effects, Stampin' Dimensionals, scallop circle punch, 1" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, corner rounder punch, edge distresser, Silver Embossing powder, heat gun, sponge.

father's day projects

With Father's Day only just around the corner here in Australia, I have had a request for tomorrow's workshop to make a card and a scrapbook layout, so here's a couple of the cards that the guests will get to choose from followed by the layout of my Dad!

Because I don't have any Stampin' Up embossing powders, I've used some from my own {huge} stash but everything else on these cards is from Stampin' Up.

Credits for first card:

Here's my 12x12 layout done on some black textured cardstock.  I've also added in Basic Grey, Mellow Moss, Really Rust and Whisper White.  The word 'Dad' has been stamped with the Big Deal alphas and Crystal Effects has been added onto them.  I have stamped 'my' with the Short Order Alphabet and pinned it on with a silver brad.  I have punched out some large stars and distressed them with ink, tearing and screwing up (the fun stuff!) and stamped some smaller stars onto some of them from the Wanted set.  The only ink I've used is Basic Grey.  I've distressed most edges of the cardstock, inked some of them with a sponge, pricked holes with the Mat Pack set and mounted the Really Rust card onto Stampin' Dimensionals.  This piece also has some Hemp Twine tied around the top and I've also used the Spiral Punch along the top of this and stamped the Fine Lace background stamp onto it.  The Basic Grey piece has the Linen background stamp all over it and I've torn and rolled the right side to distress it.  I'll eventually add a journalling tag and pop it in behind my photograph.  It's a nice, simple layout but the Basic Grey is certainly a colour that has grown on me since it was released in the new Idea Book.

Well, I haven't given up stamping but it sure felt like I wasn't going to get my mojo back anytime soon....but once I started playing, it felt great!  My next hostess Deanne requested that I do a card with embossing on it, so saw a beautiful card over on Teneale's website where I got a little inspiration from.  She has the most amazing talent I've ever seen...each project she's made is a work of art so make sure you check her Gallery out.  I have added some vellum in with the flourishes stamped on but pretty much everything else is CASEd from Teneale...in case you didn't know, in the stamping world, CASEing something means 'copy and steal everything' which I think is so cute!  Scrapbookers would call it 'scraplifting'! I pretty much get my inspiration on all my projects from others...blogs, galleries, magazines, internet sites, you name it!  I remember ideas I've seen, or projects that inspire me and I just go with the flow once I start.  Most times I head in a totally different direction once I get working because I usually wouldn't have all the products.  But it's all good and I'd like to thank Teneale for all her inspiration as there's plenty of it in her work.

Just before I head out the door to my workshop at Alethea's, here's a quick pic of another card we're making tonight.  You'll see back on my 4th June post, the card that inspired this one as I just love the colours and the Scribbles set looks so vibrant when clear embossed!

Gosh, I hate computers sometimes!  ggggrrrr....

I just had a huge post typed up, went and read an email and came back two minutes later and Typepad has logged me out taking my post with it!  :(

Now I have to start all over again......

Well, anyway this is the card I've made to teach at a workshop on Saturday (card #2) and I got my inspiration from a number of blogs who featured this set recently.  It's called Nursery Necessities and is so adorable.   Everything is by Stampin' Up.

INK:  Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Versamark

CARD/PAPER:  Spring Silhouettes, Spring Showers and Petals & Paisley double-sided papers, Whisper White cardstock

Tags for next workshop

Here's a few tags I've started making to try out at my next workshop.  Gail, our hostess, requested we make tags so I thought it would be a good way to showcase a few products/techniques at the same time.  Love the emboss resist technique where you stamp your image in Versamark then emboss in clear and then sponge a colour all over your cardstock and across your image.  The embossed part doesn't retain the ink so you get a nice area around it and the emboss part just pops off your page and the colour of the card/paper shows through the image.  Works well wth a fairly solid image.

SMILE - cardstock : orchid opulence, pumpkin pie, certainly celery; inks : certainly celery, orchid opulence; markers : orchid opulence, pumpkin pie; stamps : beyond the basics (boo hoo, this is being discontinued), whimsical alpha (boo hoo too!), big blooms (Summer Mini); other : celery grosgrain ribbon (Summer Mini), Cutter Kit.

MY HEART IS WITH YOU - cardstock : chocolate chip, very vanilla; inks : pumpkin pie, very vanilla, Versamark, More Mustard; other : white gel pen, corner rounder, Cutter Kit, clear embossing powder, sponge, hole pricker, caramel gingham ribbon; stamps :  petal prints, small sayings.

CELEBRATE - cardstock : kraft, bordering blue, gable green; inks : black standard cartridge; stamps : flip flops roller, all about U; other - stamp a ma jig, round tab punch, assorted Stampin' Markers.

Wow, I really love this card although the colours look much better in person.  Took a bit of inspiration from the colours used on a card by Yvonne on 9th February and the design of a Sarah Klass card from 6th February to end up with this creation.  I will be teaching this at my workshop at Debbie's on Saturday so hope the ladies like it!  Card is made out of Chocolate Chip and I've also used More Mustard, Mellow Moss and Close To Cocoa card.  The patterned paper is from the Summer Mini "Au Chocolat" range.  Ribbon is Ivory Organdy.  I've distressed most edges of cardstock with sponge.  "Cherish" word from Warm Words set has been stamped in Chocolate Chip.  Hearts are from Hostess set "Love It".  For the two hearts at the top, I have inked the heart in More Mustard and 'kissed' it with a stamp from "Beyond The Basics" inked in Close To Cocoa and one of these hearts has been mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals.  The stamps at the bottom are in Chocolate Chip ink.  Off to make the other card we're going to be doing at my weekend workshop!

Bugs & Kisses cards

Here's 2 cards we're going to be doing at Jacquie's Stamp Club workshop on Friday night.  She requested we do some boys birthday cards with this stamp set so hope these are suitable ones.  I love the bright bolds colours and cutting out and colouring the bugs!

Photo wallet

Thought I'd share some photos of my fully decorated photo wallet that I am teaching at my Crop on Tuesday night.  The last photo I posted of this wallet on the 8th November's post didn't have any journalling or photos in it so it makes such a difference when you see it fully decorated.  Check that last post if you want to know what I've used from the Stampin' Up range to create this.  The only thing I've added that isn't Stampin' Up is the 3L photo corners in Kraft.  I intend for this to be a gift to the kid's Dad for Christmas as I've written the journalling as if it was them speaking.  These are so quick and easy to make up and would make great little pressies for your kid's teachers or for Mum & Dad to keep in their bag as a little brag book.  My neighbour Mary is going to lend me some of her samples for the Crop that she's made up for her daughter's to give their friends for Christmas.  They're not in Christmas papers and they look so cute for another take on what you can do with these.
